My point is, there are a lot of people in the world. No one ever sees everything the same way you do; it just doesn’t happen. So when you find one person who gets a couple of things, especially if they’re important ones… you might as well hold on to them. You know?

"I’m not blowing smoke up your ass." — old-timey doctor who doesn’t take your insurance
#7. Blowing Tobacco Smoke into People’s Assholes Was a Popular Cure
For as long as humans have had buttholes, healers have been shoving various substances in there just to see what would happen. The ancient Mayans ingested hallucinogenic drugs through their rectums as a ritual journey to the spirit world…in old-timey Europe, enemas became less about going on psychedelic anus trips and more about literally blowing smoke up your ass. The anal trumpeter in the illustration is actually using his mouth to blow tobacco smoke up the poor bastard’s ass as a form of popular 18th century cure. Back then, tobacco in all of its forms was used to treat basically anything from colic to vomit, hernia, rheumatic pains, and an excess of dignity.
Goodbye. // “Remember, girl on fire, I’m still betting on you.”
"When I’m gone, just carry on
Don’t mourne, rejoice
Everytime you hear the sound of my voice.”
Sometimes you need to remind yourself that you were the one who carried you through the heartache. You are the one who sits with the cold body on the shower floor, and picks it up. You are the one who feeds it, who clothes it, who tucks it into bed, and you should be proud of that. Having the strength to take care of yourself when everyone around you is trying to bleed you dry, that is the strongest thing in the universe.
It is painfully easy to define human beings. They are beings who, for no good reason at all, create their own unnecessary suffering.
